HolidayTubas Tuba and euphonium players are again invited to participate in one or more of the TUBACHRISTMAS concerts/events presented throughout the world. Help achieve maximum participation for your area's TUBACHRISTMAS concert. Your efforts will be appreciated by tuba and euphonium players everywhere. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY INSTRUCTIONS: See the listing by state for the city or cities in which you wish to participate. Each TUBACHRISTMAS event will have its own registration, rehearsal and performance schedule. SUGGESTIONS: Bring a carrying strap, music stand or lyre; many concerts will be performed while standing. For outside concerts, plastic mouthpieces are more comfortable if the weather is cold.

Space is limited at most rehearsal sites: if at all possible, use gig bags rather than hard cases. ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO REACH THE ASSEMBLY POINT DESIGNATED FOR EACH TUBACHRISTMAS. WEAR BRIGHT COLORS. REGISTRATION: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR EACH CITY CAREFULLY!

All participants must register at the assembly point for each TUBACHRISTMAS. REGISTRATION REQUIRES A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CONTRIBUTION OF $10.00 (registration fee).

Each registrant will receive a TUBACHRISTMAS 2017 Commemorative Button. Registration fees help cover increasing production, promotion, and administrative costs for TUBACHRISTMAS. MUSIC: CAROLS FOR A MERRY TUBACHRISTMAS is available at registration: 6 x 8 1/2, bass clef-C, four part score form, or treble clef-Bb, two upper parts, $20.00.

Large version 8 1/2 x 11 bass or treble, $25.00. Music contains 33 selections, including numbers arranged by to enhance the original nineteen traditional Christmas carols arranged by Alec Wilder.

Also available in advance only by mail, via participant order form (6 x 8 1/2 upper parts for treble clef tubas, Eb/Bb, Salvation Army, British Brass Band players). IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A GOOD SOUNDING CHOIR. Since rehearsal time is always limited, getting and preparing the music in advance greatly improves the musicality of every performance. Tuba and Euphonium players of all ages and abilities welcome! - Registration fee $10 - Registration 12:00-1:00 (PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 12:00) Free parking in the East End Garage (E. Main and Scio). Participants should enter the main hall of the Eastman School of Music, 26 Gibbs St., near Kilbourn Hall signs.

Rehearsal begins at 1:00 Music stands will be available but you should bring a folding stand just in case. Sousaphone players may want to bring a stool. Concert is at 3:00 - Free admission (ticket required), open to the public. Tickets to the performance WILL SELL OUT! Please be sure to get tickets for friends and family well ahead of time at The Eastman Theatre Box Office. PLEASE NOTE: Participants themselves DO NOT need a ticket.

Please be reasonable when reserving tickets, your unused tickets will prevent someone else from being able to come to the concert. Pre-Registration is strongly encouraged!! Between October 1 and December 8 participants may pre-register by sending in their registration fee ahead of time. No registration form necessary, I just need the participant's name AND their registration fee. Send a check for $10 (per participant) made out to Rochester Tuba Christmas, to 123 Bedford St., Rochester, NY 14609. This will save us all time on the day of the event, help us get an estimated head count, and guarantee that you will get a 2018 TUBACHRISTMAS button! After 12/8 please just plan to register at the event. There is no limit for number of participants, the more the merrier!

Books will be available for purchase on the day of the event for $20 ($25 for large print). A simplified version of the music is available for less experienced players for $3, or I can email you PDFs of the simplified parts for free ahead of time. Most people wear festive holiday colors. Consider buying an official TUBACHRISTMAS hat or scarf for $15 at registration.

Decorate your instrument! Lights, ribbons, tinsel, reindeer antlers etc. Get creative! Refreshments Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase during the break between the rehearsal and concert. Spread the word! Invite your teachers, students, friends, and family. The more the merrier!
